The plan was made and agreed some time ago and before you know it, the day has arrived.
Some tips and guidances:
Check that your phone is charged and you have all the details on the phone. Usually the travel documents and vouchers are sent on the travel group chat.
Have your donation programme or medical note on hand if traveling with syringes.
Try to pack light so that the traveling is easy for you.
Get to the airport at least two hours before the departure. Make provision for traffic, unforeseen events on the road. It is far better to arrive early and have a cup of coffee knowing that you are ahead of time.
Remember to drink lots of water throughout the donation.
At the airport
Check-in and get your boarding pass as soon as you get to the airport.
Make sure you can identify your luggage and that it is closed adequately.
After you have your boarding pass, go through the checking points and get to the boarding gate time to spare. Have your boarding pass and ID on hand so that you can easily present it.
Be aware of people around you. Guard your possessions and be alert.
What to pack
