Egg donors in South Africa sign up to anonymous egg donor treatment. Their counselling session is based around this and ladies are not required to maintain a relationship with either the agent or clinic after the donation.
In light of this, it is deemed unethical to ask ladies to share any of their confidential information with a foreign clinic or to consider sharing details when a child conceived of egg donation becomes of age (turns 18).
This message is written to kindly ask recipients to honour this so that donors are not scared off where a confidential commitment becomes less confidential. It is written to hold the ethical commitment of the precious egg donors.
