I remember the first time I ever fiddled with the idea of donating eggs I was in my uni dorm room with my roommate. If you had asked me then why I wanted to donate my eggs, my answer would have been something surface level. I probably would have told you that I wanted to do it because it was a good cause and of course it was.
My first time was scary but the staff at Medfem were so polite and patient, they held my hand through the whole process and they definitely made it easier for me. This set the precedent and every other time I went through the process I was met with the same kindness at every clinic.
The thought of doing the injections myself was very scary at first but all it took was some good listening skills and bravery. I championed through my injections every time and it was all because of the kindness and patience I was shown by clinic staff who made sure to guide me through every step of the process.
Now, after many years and a few clinics all over South Africa, I am also a mom and now my answer to why I donate eggs has certainly changed. The moment I held my daughter felt so special and it was probably the first time I ever felt pure love and I donate eggs so I can give the same feeling to the next woman. We are all deserving of feeling that special feeling and I am happy that I joined Baby2Mom all those years ago to help others feel what it is like to experience the purest form of love.
If you’re reading this and thinking of donating eggs, do it because there’s a woman out there who is searching for that feeling and you have the power to give it to them.
