The process undertaken in as follows:
- Donor screening at Tygerberg
- If donor is new, Tygerberg will request that you have a blood test. This test costs R900. baby2mom will give this to you to please settle directly at the lab.
- Once the clinic confirms all good, please report your day 1 every month.
- If Tygerberg has capacity, the treatment will proceed.
- Tygerberg will then issue a script to you. This is obtained from Dischem Canal Walk. When collecting the medication, please confirm that you have everything that you need from the pharmacy: syringes and all medication according to the script. Please also direct any medical queries about the medication to the pharmacy. baby2mom is not able to answer any medical queries..
- Ordinarily the clinics pay your donation, but Tygerberg have requested that baby2mom pay this. It will be given to you on the day of egg retrieval after the eggs have been retrieved.
Notes please:
- Tygerberg are not able to give a plan as to when the donation can happen upfront. This is only given when they have capacity.
- baby2mom cannot influence the timing. It is entirely dependent on the capacity of the Tygerberg clinic.
- Please be patient if the process is longer than anticipated and kindly only consent if you are comfortable with this.
Transport:
- Please advise required transport reimbursement as follows for return trips to:
- Tygerberg
- Your local blood lab for the blood test and
- Dischem Canal Walk to collect medication.
